State Convention Of Portuguese Organizations Weekend Agenda and Pictures Below
On August 5,6,7, 2011, the Maui Portuguese Cultural Club will host the annual State Convention of Portuguese Organizations. The three day event will take place at the Maui Beach Hotel centering on the theme of Education: The Key to Cultural Revival and feature a Fado concert by Ramana Vieira, world renowned Fadista from San Francisco, California. Anyone wishing to attend the convention may use the contact form on this website before July 22, 2011 to make arrangements. Portuguese organizations from Oahu, the Big Island and Maui will be in attendance. Tentative program as follows:

1:00-5:00pm Registration and packet distribution - Maui Beach Hotel Lobby
5:00-6:00 pm - No host cocktails, Assigned seating, Ice Breaker games and prizes, Lucky number drawings, Resource Table and Display of Portuguese artifacts.
6:00-6:30 p.m. - Welcome, Introduction of guests and opening remarks
Welcome address by Evelyn Starkey, current President of the Hawaii Council of Portuguese Heritage.
6:30p.m. - Dinner buffet
7:00 p.m. - Guest Speaker - Ramana Viera - Topic: Fado, The Soulful Song of Portugual.
Door prizes
7:30-8:30 p.m. Hawaii Council of Portuguese Heritage Meeting and election of officers for 2012.
8:30-10:00 p.m. Portuguese Language Bingo

Preliminary and Semi-final Bisca Tournament playoffs (Everyone is invited to learn and play provided they have a partner to play with.)
12:30 p.m. Bus leaves for Kepaniwai Park – Lunch Provided by MPCC
2:00 p.m. Bus returns to hotel/or drop off at Queen Kaahumanu Shopping Center and walk back to the hotel.
